Toth is an anthropologist who served as state archaeologist for the State of Louisiana. He has conducted extensive studies into the archaeology of the Lower Mississippi valley. This is a sub-type of the Gary point.
Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a medium to large triangular contracting stem point with an elliptical cross section. The blade may range from straight to excurvate. The shoulders may range from slightly barbed to horizontal. The stem is contracting with a straight base This point has a random flaking pattern.
Size Measurements:
Length - 27 to 67 mm (average 55 mm), Width - 15 to 23 mm (average 18 mm), Thickness - 4 to 11 mm (average 8 mm).
