Schumback is an anthropologist and professor for the Department of Anthropology at Southern Arkansas University. He has conducted extensive studies into the archaeology of the Mississippian cultures. This sub-type was identified during his study of the Gary point. This is a sub-type and has limited professional references.
Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a medium to large triangular contracting stem point with an elliptical cross section. The blade is broad and excurvate. The shoulders are wide and may range from slightly barbed to horizontal. The stem is contracting and may have a pointed base. This point is generally a well made point and may be thinner than most other variations. This point has a random flaking pattern.
