Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:

This is a thick medium to large lanceolate side notch point with an elliptical cross section.  The blade is excurvate with smaller examples having a straight blade.  Shallow notches enter the higher on the blade forming weak shoulders that are at an upward angle.  The stem is expanding with a convex base.  Many examples have a stem with a bulbous appearance.  This point has a random flaking pattern.    

Size Measurements:  Total Length - 38 to 71 mm,  Stem Length - 11 to 17 mm,  Blade Width - 18 to 28 mm,  Neck Width - 14 to 21 mm,  Basal Width - 18 to 26 mm,  Thickness - 7 to 12 mm

This point is primarily found in the north coastal ranges and into the northern Sierra Nevada range of California.  This point has been reported into southern Oregon and northwestern Nevada.
