This is a medium to large triangular expanding stem point with an elliptical cross section. The blade is primarily excurvate and commonly serrated. The shoulders may vary from having an upward angle to being horizontal. The stem is expanding with a straight to convex base. Basal grinding is commonly seen on these points. A random flaking pattern is most commonly seen on these points, but a few examples have had oblique flaking patterns.

This point is primarily found in the central coastal region and ranges of California. These points tend to be concentrated in the northern regions of this distribution extending into the Sacramento Delta region. The points have been found as far south as Los Angles County.
Justice is a distinguished archaeologist and Assistant Director and Curator of Collections at Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology at Indiana University. This point was named in his book on points of the Southwest and has many professional references. This is considered a valid type.
