Loyd Doty notes:
MANUELA (Stemmed) – is Spanish meaning ‘God is with us’.  This point type was named by Eric Ritter for examples recovered from the type site on Laguna Manuela in west central Baja California.  He suggested that these small to medium sized (1.5” to 3”) points were from the late prehistoric period, although perhaps slightly earlier than other late period forms.  They are rather crudely fashioned, with less than sharp tips, parallel blade edges with little secondary retouch, strong straight shoulders and short contracted stems.  Distribution is currently thought to be within the Baja region and possibly extending into southern California.  References: Ritter, Eric W. 2006b:143, The Vizcaíno Desert.  In: The Prehistory of Baja California: Advances in the Archaeology of the Forgotten Peninsula, edited by Don Laylander and Jerry D.
