Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a medium triangular corner notch point with an elliptical cross section.  The blade is excurvate and generally short and broad.  The shoulders are barbed with an expanding stem.  The base is convex with many examples having a “dovetail” appearance.  The base has thinning accomplished with several longitudinal flakes commonly extending the length of the stem with light hafting region grinding being present.  This point is made using broad percussion flaking with fine pressure flaking used to re-touch the edges forming a random flaking pattern.
