Forbis is an eminent anthropologist and was a professor for the Department of Anthropology at the University of Calgary.   He was responsible for development of the Archaeological Research Program for the Glenbow Museum and is considered the “Father of Alberta Archaeology”.  This point was named in a professional publication and has many professional references.  This is considered a valid type.

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small (1.25 to 1.75 inch) triangular stemmed to expanding stem point with a flattened cross section.  The blade is primarily straight with a sharp tip. The stem is long and slightly expanding.  The base may range from straight to slightly convex.  This point has a random flaking pattern.

This type is indistinguishable from the Cayley Side Notch. This type represents the One Gun Phase while the Cayley type represents the Old Woman's Phase. Murchie (2013) conducted extensive studies into the metric difference between the two types. He found that there was metric differences based on site, but not cultural affiliation.
