ZACATECAS – was named by archaeologist Eric W. Ritter for five examples he studied that were recovered from sites in the Sierra Zacatecas, west of Bahia Concepcion. The specimens he illustrated are medium to large sized (2” to 4”) with straight sides and broad, straight stems with straight to slightly convex bases. Reference: Ritter, Eric W. 1979. Ritter was a distinguished anthropologist at the University of California. He conducted extensive research throughout Baja California. This point was identified in Ritter's Ph.D. dissertation and has several professional references. This is considered a valid type.
