Point Validity: Site Specific Type
Marshall identified this point
while working on his M.A. Thesis at University of Missouri. He identified many types through-out Missouri including the Smith and Square
Stem point. This type has several professional references within Missouri, but most are referencing points from the type site. This name was also used for points found at Tick Creek Cave in Phelps County,
Missouri (Missouri Archaeologist 1963). This is considered a site specific type.
