Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:

This is a thick large triangular stemmed point with an elliptical cross section.  The blade may vary from excurvate that is long with the tip curving in and becoming almost parallel towards the shoulder to a shorter blade with straight edges.  The shoulders range from horizontal to having a slight upward angle.  The shoulders are commonly asymmetrical with one shoulder being less defined than the other shoulders.  The stem is slightly expanding with a straight to slightly convex base.  The basal treatment include truncated and unfinished, intentionally snapped, or steeply beveled.  This point has a random flaking pattern.     

Size Measurements:
 Total Length - 45 to 90 mm,  Stem Length - 14 to 20 mm,  Blade Width - 25 to 35 mm,  Neck Width - 19 to 25 mm,  Stem Width - 20 to 27 mm (***based on small sample size***)

This point is primarily found in the Wabash Valley of Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and western Kentucky,.  This type is found through-out southern Illinois, southern Indiana, western Kentucky and northwestern Tennessee with slightly decreased frequency.
