This is a broad thick medium stemmed point with an elliptical cross section. The blade is primarily excurvate with the maximum width usually just above the shoulders. The shoulders may vary from having a slight upward angle to having a slight barb. Some examples may have weak shoulders. The stem is short, broad, and usually straight, but may vary from slightly contracting to slightly expanding. The base is thinned using 2 to 4 short flakes forming a concave base. Generally has heavy basal grinding which leaves the base smooth. This point using primary large percussion flaking with minimal secondary pressure flaking used to even the blade leaving broad percussion flaking on the faces forming a random flaking pattern.
Size Measurements: Total Length - 45 to 90 mm (average 55 to 65 mm), Stem Length - 13 to 21 mm, Blade Width - 25 to 45 mm (average 30 to 35 mm), Stem Width - 20 to 30 mm
This point is primarily found in western Arkansas and into northern Mississippi, northern Alabama, and western Tennessee. This point may be found into northeastern Texas, northern Louisiana, and southern Missouri with decreased frequency.
