This is a small expanding stem point with a flattened cross section. The blade is recurvate with a apiculate or mucronate tip and flaring out at the shoulders edge. The blades may be finely serrated. The shoulders may vary from horizontal to being slightly barbed. Notches enter from the corners at a 45 to 90 degree angle forming a deep V or U shape. The stem is most commonly expanding, but may be straight in some examples. The base is finely thinned and convex giving the bas a fan or bulbous appearance. This point is made using pressure flaking forming a random flaking pattern.

Perino (1968) feels that this point represents a more common variation of the Agee point noting that they are commonly found together. However, the Alba type lacks the the needle-like point or the typically flat-tipped barb. Davis (1995) state that “The Homan point and the Agee point are somewhat similar in general appearance and may be part of a continuum."
