Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small (typically 1 inch) triangular expanding stem point with an flat elliptical cross section. The blade may vary from slightly excurvate to recurvate with the blade flaring out towards the shoulders. The blade is commonly finely serrated. The shoulders are horizontal. The stem is expanding with a convex base giving the stem a bulbous or fan shaped appearance. This point has a random flaking pattern.
Size Measurements:
Total Length - 18 to 35 mm, Stem Length - 7 mm (typically 1/5 to 1/4 of the total length), Width - 1.3 to 1.6 mm, Stem Width - 5 to 8 mm (Suhm and Krieger, 1954).

This point is primarily found in the Caddoan regions of the Red River Valley of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana and into the coastal regions of Texas and Louisiana. This point is found into the mid Mississippi River valley with decreased frequency as well as into central Texas.
