Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a thin medium (1.75 to 3.75 inches) triangular expanding stem point with a thin elliptical cross section.  The blade may vary from excurvate to straight.  This point is commonly re-sharpened which may reduce the shoulder forming a weak shoulder.  The shoulders may range from having a slight barb to having a upward angle.  The stem is short, broad, and expanding.  The base is concave to bifurcated, but may range to straight.  The basal corner may vary from rounded or sharp.  Hafting region grinding is commonly seen.  This point has a random flaking pattern.  This point commonly has a high quality of workmanship.
Size Measurements:

Total Length - 35 to 95 mm (average 55 to 65 mm), Stem Length - 9 to 14 mm,  Blade Width - 25 to 40 mm (average 30 mm), Stem Width - 22 to 35 mm,  Neck Width - 18 to 24 mm,  Thickness - 4 to 8 mm
Commonly Utilized Material:
Coral and chert
Additional Comments:

It has been suggest that these points evolved from Dalton or Suwannee technologies.

They are generally thin and medium to large, but they are commonly re-sharpened which reduces the size resulting in a shorter wider point that takes on the appearance (Granger and Granger, 2013).

Bullen reports that these points are never beveled. However a study by John Powell (1990) found that beveling does occasionally occur on the knife form of this point (Lloyd Schroder, 2012 W18).
