This type appears in several professional journals, but all authors are avocational archaeologist and no professional reference to this type was found with the exception to Perino.  There are many collector source reference to this type.  This is considered a collector type.

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a large to very late (4 to 9 inches) contracting stem knife with an elliptical cross section.  The blade is primarily excurvate.  The shoulders may vary from having an upward angle to being weak or absent.  The stem is contracting and makes up one half or more of the point.  The base may range from straight to slightly concave.  Grinding is present of the hafting region.  The flaking pattern may range from parallel, oblique, or random.

Total Length - 92 to 227 mm,  Blade Width - 23 to 41 mm (***based on small sample size***)

This point is similar to the older Cougar Mountain point except that the Cougar Mountain point has a convex base while this knife has a straight to slightly concave base.
