Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a broad medium to large blade with a flattened to elliptical cross section.  The blade is excurvate which may vary from curving in at the tip with parallel sides or curving in at the tip and curving back in towards the base.  The base may range from straight to slightly convex.  The basal corners are rounded.  This blade has a random flaking pattern.

This is similar to the Refugio and Abasolo found in central Texas. The Covington Knife tends to be broader with more angular basal corners while the Abasolo tends to be narrower with rounded basal corners. The Refugio is similar, but is generally larger than the Abasolo.
