Justice is a distinguished anthropologist and Assistant Director and Curator of Collections at Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology at Indiana University. This point was named in his book on points of the Southwest. There are currently few professional references to this type, but that may be due to the limited distribution and number of examples. This is considered a valid type.
Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small to large triangular point with a flattened to elliptical cross section. The blade may vary from excurvate to straight. The blade has parallel notches on the blade just above the shoulders. Many examples have serrations on the blade. The shoulders are commonly drooping downward. The stem is contracting with a straight to convex base. This point has a random flaking pattern.
