Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:

This is a thin medium to large triangular side notch point with a flattened cross section.  The blade is primarily straight, but may vary to slightly excurvate.  The shallow notchs enters low on the side of the preform forming a short stubby stem and broad neck.  The shoulders are at a slight upward angle and the the stem is expanded and slightly narrower than the blade.  The base is slightly concave with rounded basal ears.  This point has a random flaking pattern.

Size Measurements:  Length - 60 to 85 mm, Stem Length - 9 to 12 mm,  Blade Width - 29 to 34 mm, Basal Stem Width - 26 to 31 mm,  Neck Width - 22 to 24 mm,  Thickness - 7 to 11 mm (*** small sample size).

This type has been reported at Cueva de la Nopalera, Hidalgo, Mexico.  These points ate thought to be found throughout the Valley of Mexico.

At Cueva de la Nopalera these point were primarily associated with level 2, but had decrease frequency in levels 4, 3, and 1.
