Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a thin medium to
large triangular side notch point with a flattened cross section.
The blade is primarily straight, but may vary to slightly excurvate.
The shallow notchs enters low on the side of the preform forming a short
stubby stem and broad neck. The shoulders are at a slight upward
angle and the the stem is expanded and slightly narrower than the blade. The
base is slightly concave with rounded basal ears. This point has a random flaking
pattern.
Size Measurements: Length - 60 to 85 mm, Stem Length - 9 to 12 mm, Blade Width -
29 to 34 mm, Basal Stem Width - 26 to 31 mm, Neck
Width - 22 to 24 mm, Thickness - 7 to 11 mm (*** small sample
size).
