Distribution Comments:
This point has been reported at Cueva de la Nopalera, Hidalgo, Mexico. These points are thought to be
found throughout the Valley of Mexico
Additional Comments:
These points were
discussed by Cook (1967) under the name Trinidad. Trinidad points are
middle archaic points and these points were found in Classic layers at Cueva
de la Nopalera. In addition, Trinidad points have a straight to
contracting stem while these points have a bulbous stem. They are
similar to, and found in association with Hayes Grande points. These
are similar to the older Palmillas points and tend to be much larger than
commonly seen in Palmillas points. These were included here under the
name Sahagun (the local city) because of their uniqueness and association
with the Hayes Grande.
