Bryan was a geologist who had an interest in archeology in the 1930's.  He conducted numerous well documented surveys and excavations in Texas.  This report was re-published in the Central Texas Archaeological Society Bulletin and has many professional references to this type.  This is considered a valid type.

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a thick medium triangular expanding stem point with an elliptical cross section.  The blade may range from excurvate to straight.  The blade us usually finely serrated and slightly beveled.  The shoulders most commonly horizontal, but may vary to slightly barbed.  The stem is expanding with a convex or rounded base. The stem is usually long and round with heavy basal grinding.  This point has a random flaking pattern.
Size Measurements:

Total Length - 45 to 80 mm,  Stem Length - 13 to 20 mm,  Blade Width - 20 to 30 mm,  Neck Width - 15 to 25 mm,  Stem Width - 17 to 27 mm (slightly narrower than blade).

These points have been referred to as Penny Points because of the appearance of the stem which is round and usually have heavy basal grinding (Turner and Hester, 1985).
