Justice is a distinguished archaeologist and Assistant Director and Curator of Collections at Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology at Indiana University.  This point was named in his book on points of the Southwest.  There are currently few professional references to this type, but that may be due to the limited distribution and number of examples.  This is considered a valid type.

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a thin medium triangular point with a flattened to a flat elliptical cross section.  The blade is primarily straight to slightly excurvate.  Some examples curve in at the tip with parallel sides and flaring out at the base giving the point an articulated appearance.  The base ranges from a deep concave to slightly concave.  This point has an oblique parallel flaking pattern on one or both faces.

Total Length - 55 to 131 mm,  Basal Width - 13 to 24 mm,  Thickness - 3 to 5 mm

This is a Canalino Triangular variant which is more elongated and as a high quality of workmanship. This point (especially larger examples) are thought to have a ceremonial significance (Justice, 2002).
