Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a medium thin triangular contracting stem point with a thin elliptical to flattened cross section. The blade is primarily excurvate, but may become straight on re-sharpened and smaller examples. The shoulders are barbed with sharp terminations. The stem may range from straight to slightly expanding to the point of the terminations of the barbed, then is contracting in a V shape giving the point a "turkey tail' appearance.

This point is primarily found in the Big Bend area of Texas and Coahuila Mexico and into southeastern Arizona, southern New Mexico, and western Texas. Distribution extends into northern Durango Mexico.
