Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small to medium triangular corner to side notch point with an elliptical to flattened cross section. The blade is primarily excurvate, but re-worked examples may have a straight to incurvate blade. The blade is asymmetrical with only one blade being notched. A notch on a single blade may enter the blade from the corner or low on the side of the preform. (Examples that were re-worked from another type of point has the blade reduced on one side, removing the notch and the shoulders and stem resemble the re-worked type). The shoulders may vary from horizontal to slightly barbed. The stem is expanding with a convex base. This point has a random flaking pattern.

Additional Comments:
This point may have the appearance of a point that has notched on one edge, or it may resembles many other points found within this region from the same time period (Columbia Plateau, Rabbit Island,
Hells Canyon, etc.) that has been re-worked, removing enough of the blade to remove the barb and make the blade in line with the stem.
Single notched knives are found through out North America. They include types like
Bullen Knife and
Pipe Creek.
