Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:

This is a small to medium triangular point with an elliptical cross section.  The blade may vary from excurvate to straight.  A notch enters the blade from a single corner of the blade with the other blade being un-notched.  The base may vary from straight to slightly convex.  This point has a random flaking pattern.

This point is primarily associated with Texas and onto Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana.  These points have been reported into Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

The distribution of this type is not fully known.  They were first reported in Texas and the surrounding region.  They are also found into the Ohio River Valley, Tennessee River Valley, and the Mississippi River Valley.  It remains unclear if the points found in the Ohio River Valley and the surrounding regions are related to the points found in Texas and that surrounding region.

Perino suggest that these may have been used to prepare feathers for the use of fletching.
