Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a medium (2 to 3 inches) corner notch knife with a cross section that may range from elliptical to having a median ridge.  The blade is primarily excurvate.  A single notch enters the preform from the corner forming a barbed shoulder and an expanding stem.  The un-notched edge is commonly beveled.  The base may vary from convex to slightly concave.  Basal thinning is commonly seen as well as light hafting region grinding.  This type is shaped with collateral flaking with little or no pressure flaking.
