Carlson is a distinguished anthropologist and professor for the Department of Anthropology, University of Washington. Carlson has conducted extensive studies into the archaeology of Canada. This point was identified in a professional publication. Currently only two examples have been recovered from the southwestern Yukon ice patches. More research is needed on this type. This is considered a provisional type.

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a medium to large lanceolate contracting stem point with an elliptical cross section. The blade is narrow and excurvate with the tip curving in and becoming parallel towards the shoulders. The shoulders range from almost horizontal to having a slight upward angle. The stem is rages from contracting to slightly contracting with a convex base. This point has a high quality of workmanship and a random flaking pattern.

Length - 53 to 97 mm (average 63 to 75 mm), Blade Width - 16 to 30 mm (average 20 to 23 mm),**Width / Length Ratio 0.22 to 0.35 mm **

This point was reported at the Destaffany site, Helen Site, Pender Canal site and may be found throughout the Puget Sound of British Columbia and Washington. May be found throughout southwestern British Columbia and into northwestern Washington. Full distribution not known.

At Destaffany radiocarbon dates were 3750 ± 50 and 4750 ± 50 BP, The burial 84–46 at Pender (DeRt–2) had a radiocarbon date of 3570 ± 140 BP with radiocarbon dates midden deposit dating between 4,000 - 5,000 B.P. Helen Point had radiocarbon dating between 5,420 and 3,690 (Carlson, 2011).
