McGahey is a professional Archaeologist who served as the Chief Archaeologist for Mississippi Department of Archives and History as well as the Editor in of Mississippi Archeology until 1982.  This point was named in a professional publication, but needs professional references and acceptance of this type.  This is considered a provisional type.

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a medium triangular corner notch with an rhomboidal cross section.  The blade ranges from straight to incurvate and commonly has alternaiting beveling. The shoulders and commonly serrrated with barbed shoulder and an expanding stem.  The base is convex and thinned.  This point has a random flaking pattern. 
Size Measurements:
Lenght - 34 to 61 mm (average 48 mm), Width - 19 - 41 mm (average 29 mm), Thickness - 6 to 10 MM (average 8 mm).
Commonly Utilized Material:
Heat-treated Tuscaloosa gravel chert
Additional Comments:

Cambron first named these points Plevna Points for examples from the Plevna Site in Alabama. These were then included in the St. Charles type. MaGahey then named these points Becker for points found in Mississippi.

Becker are related to the Decatur type points (MaGahey, 2000).

They Becker points precede Lost Lake and Pine Tree points (MaGahey, 2000).
