Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a large triangular basal notch point with a thin elliptical
cross section. The blade ranges from straight to excurvate with
the tip curving in the top third of the point and then evening out or
becoming almost parallel the remaining 2/3 of the point. Notches
enter the preform from the base forming a shoulder that is barbed and
extends to the base of the point. The stem is short and expanding
with a base that varies from straight to convex. This point is has
a high quality of workmanship with a random flaking pattern.
Size Measurements: Length - 52 to 90 mm, Stem Length - 7 to 11 mm, Blade Width -
27 to 57 mm, Basal Stem Width - 16 to 30 mm, Neck

Cook (1967) differentiates variations of the
Tepeapulco point. Tepeapulco I is any point with a blade width under
46 mm and Tepeapulco II for any point with a blade width over 46 mm.

Antropologia e Historia. He conducted extensive research in the Basin
of Mexico. This type was defined in his research at Cueva de la
Nopalera.

Age Details:
Tepeapulco points are associated with upper levels in level 4, with primary
association in level 3 and had decreased usage in the lower level 2 at Cueva
de la Nopalera.
