Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small to medium side notch point with a thin elliptical cross
section. The blade ranges from slightly excurvate to straight.
Notches enter the side of the preform low on the blade forming shoulders
varying from horizontal to having a slight upward angle. The stem
is expanded with a base that ranges from straight to slightly concave.
The base is always wider than the shoulders. This point has a
random flaking pattern. pentagonal stemmed point with a flattened cross section.
Size Measurements: Length - 23 to 51 mm (average 33 mm), Blade Width -
13 to 22 mm (average 18 mm), Thickness - 3 to 10 mm (average 5 mm)

These points have been reported in the Loma, Guadiana, and Suchil
cultural regions of Chihuahua, Durango, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi,
Jalisco, and Aguascalientes Mexico.

This type was developed by the Suchil Chalchihuites culture and passed onto
the Guardiana Chalchiihuites and Loma cultures (Spence, 1971).
