Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:

This is a small triangular side notched point.  The cross section may vary from flattened to elliptical.  The blade varies from excurvate to straight.  Parallel notches enter the blade forming a shoulder that is horizontal and an expanding stem. The base is concaved to bifurcate.  This point has a random flaking pattern.

This point is primarily found in southern Saskatchewan and into Albert and Montana.

This point is similar to the older Oxbow point,  but lacks the basal grinding commonly seen on Oxbow points.  This is seen as a variation to the Plains Side Notch point and is commonly found with other Plain Side Notch variations.
