Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:

This is a small to medium triangular stemmed point with a flattened to elliptical cross section.  The blade varies from slightly excurvate to straight.  There is a single notch on one or both blades.  The notch enters the shoulder on one or both shoulders.  When the notch enters higher on the blade above the shoulder, this would be the Hafting Notch type.  The shoulders are most commonly slightly barbed, but may range to horizontal.  The stem varies form slightly contracting to slightly expanding.  This point has a random flaking pattern.

 Total Length - 16 to 51 mm,  Stem Length - 4 to 7 mm,   Blade Width - 12 to 26 mm,  Stem Width - 3 to 7 mm,  Thickness - 3 to 5 mm

This point is primarily associated with the coastal regions of the Portland Basin and down the Oregon Coastal region to the  Umpqua River in Douglas County, Oregon.  This point is also found in the lower Columbia River Valley.
