Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:

This is a medium to large lanceolate contracting stem point with an elliptical cross section.  The blade is excurvate and commonly has fine serrations.  The shoulders are weak to absent and at an upward angle.  The stem is contracting with a convex base.  Basal and hafting region grinding is present on this type.  The flaking pattern may range from parallel oblique to random.     

Size Measurements:  Total Length - 25 to 145mm (average 45 to 70 mm),  Blade Width - 11 to 35 mm (average 20 to 25 mm),  Thickness - 3 to 9 mm.

This point is primarily found in Columbia Plateau of Washington and Oregon and into northern Idaho and western Montana.  This point is found through the Cascade Range and into the northern Sierra Nevada range of California and Nevada.  This point may be found into the  Okanagan Range of British Columbia and extends to the coastal regions.
