Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a medium triangular corner notch to expanding stem point with an
elliptical cross section. The blade is excurvate. Notches
enter the corner of the preform forming a shoulder that ranges from
horizontal to being slightly barbed. The stem is expanding with a
straight to slightly concave base and with rounded basal corners.
This point has a random flaking pattern.
Size Measurements: Length - 20 to 51 mm, Stem Length - 7 to 10 mm, Blade Width -
14 to 22 mm, Basal Stem Width - 8 to 16 mm, Neck

This is a variation of the Bitterroot Side Notch. Distribution
includes northern Idaho, northwestern Wyoming, western Montana, and into southern Alberta, southeastern British Columbia, and southern Saskatchewan.
This variation may not have the full distribution of the Bitterroot
type.

+/- 450 at Jensen Springs, 7,430 +/- 70 at Everblue Springs, and 7,280 +/-
230 at Maple Leaf Springs (Peck, no date)
