Meyer is a distinguished anthropologist and professor for the Department of Anthropology, Saskatchewan University.  Meyer conducted extensive studies into the Lovell River region of the Embarras Plateau and throughout Alberta.  This point was identified in a professional publication and has many professional references.  This is considered a valid type.

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a large ovoid blade with an elliptical cross section.  The blade is excurvate with the widest portion of the blade being the mid-section.  The blade may vary from being narrow with a bi-point appearance to having a wider blade and having an ovoid appearance.  This point has a random flaking pattern and pressure flaking is utilized along the blade edges.
Size Measurements:

Length - 69 to 142 mm,  Width - 35 to 69 mm,  Thickness - 8 to 25 mm
Commonly Utilized Material:
Quartzite (common), Basalt, Siltstone, Shale, and locally quarried stone
Additional Comments:

These points are often confused with older Cascade points. These points are not associated with the Old Cordilleran Culture. A similar point found along the coastal regions of British Columbia, the Xil Projectile Point (Fedje et al., 2008) is a much older point dating 8,800 to 8,700 B.P. (Row, 2008)

These points are primarily associated with the Embarras Plateau of Alberta and throughout the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia and into Idaho and Montana.  The full distribution is unknown and may extend into Washington and Saskatchewan.
