Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a broad medium to large (3 to 5 inches) ovoid point with an elliptical to flattened cross section.  The cross section may be more flatted on one face forming a plano-convex cross section.  The blade is excurvate, curving in towards the tip and back in towards the base.  The base is primarily slightly concave, but may vary to straight.  This point is finely finished and may be fluted.  One face is commonly thinned and the other face is slightly beveled with no smoothing of the basal edge.  This point has a broad random flaking pattern with fine pressure flaking around the edges.

This point should not be confessed with preforms of other points. This point is an ovoid point and is finely finished. Crudely shaped or rough preforms missing any pressure flaking should not be type as this point (Son Anderson).

It has been suggest that these points may represent the final preform stage for the Simpson type (W18)
