Morrow is a professional archaeologist who has served in many professional archaeologist roles including Chief Archaeologist for the State of Iowa. This point was named in his book on Iowa projectile points and has many limited references to this type. This is a sub-type of the Hell Gap type.

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a medium lanceolate stemmed point with an elliptical cross section. The blade is primarily excurvate however, examples with weak shoulder may give the point a recurvate appearance. The widest part of the blade is just above the shoulders which are one half to one fourth of the length of the point. The shoulders are weak to absent and at an upward slope. The stem is long and ranges from slightly contracting most commonly to straight. The base is primarily straight, but may vary from slightly concave to slightly convex. Basal grinding is commonly seen on this point. The flaking pattern may vary from random to parallel or horizontal transverse.
