Cambron is a distinguished avocational archaeologist that did extensive work in Alabama and the Tennessee River valley.  This point was named in a personally published book.  This point has been referred to in numerous professional publications and is considered a valid type.

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small to medium (average 1.5 inches) triangular expanding stem point.  The cross section is primarily elliptical, but may range from unifacial, or rarely median ridge.  The blade is generally straight, but occasionally may be excurvate.  The shoulders are most often angled upwards, but may be horizontal to slightly barbed.  The stem is expanding and has a concave base.  The flaking pattern is random, but has collateral finishing flaking.  Basal grinding is seen on the hafting area.
Size Measurements:

Length - 24 to 80 mm (42 mm average), Stem Length - 10 to 17 mm (13 mm average),  Blade Width - 17 to 44 (24 mm average),  Stem Width - 11 to 17 mm (15 mm average), Thickness - 3 to 10 mm (average 6 mm).

This point is similar to the Jude point, but this point has more of a bifurcated stem than is seen on the Jude type (MaGahey, 2000).
