Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a medium to large triangular
corner notch point with an elliptical cross section. The blade
is excurvate and commonly has fine serrations, but never beveled.
The Shoulders are barbed with a short expanding stem. The base
is is convex. This point has a random flaking pattern.
Size Measurements: Total Length - 35
to 70 mm, Stem Length - 9 to 12 mm, Blade Width - 26 to
39 mm, Neck Width - 16 to 19 mm, Stem Width - 25 to 30
mm

This point is reported at the Hester Site in Monroe County Mississippi. Distribution may extend into Alabama.

Brooks (1979) noted that these points have serrations that are fine, in
contrast to the coarser serration found on the Kirk series The most
significant. attribute of the Josselyn point is the broad flaring stem.
Stems are shorter and significantly broader than on most Lost Lake points.
Beveling does not occur on these points. Re-sharpening was accomplished by a
technique of collateral flaking similar to that employed on Pine Tree
points.
