Weverton Quartzite is associated with the Buzzard Knob Member of the Weverton Quartzite Formation, Chilhowee Group of eastern West Virginia, northern Virginia, and Maryland.  Primarily occurs as beds with exposures occur at Weverton in Washington County, Maryland to South Mountain, in the Elkton region of Virginia, and along the flanks of the Blue Ridge Anticlinotium.
