Weir Chert is associated with the Weir Formation of New Brunswick.
Primary exposures occur in the Chaleur Bay synclinorium of the southern
Gaspe Peninsula and in northern New Brunswick and into Quebec.
Formation was previously named the Armstrong Brook Formation which has
been abandoned.
