Vulture Obsidian occurs as marekanites / nodules with the primary source being rhyolite domes subsumed by later andesite.  Small patches of rhyolite and ash are exposed in Jackrabbit Wash south of the Vulture Mountains with secondary sources being Jackrabbit and Coyote washes in northwestern Maricopa County, Arizona.
