Viola Chert is associated with the Viola Limestone Formation of
central Oklahoma. Primarily occurs as irregular bands and nodules
in the lower and middle of the formation near Viola, Johnson County,
Oklahoma. Smaller outcroppings occur in the Arbuckle Mountains,
Wichita Mountains, Criner Hills, and the Mansville Incline.
