Slaven Chert is associated with the Slaven Chert Formation of Nevada.
Primarily occurs as beds up to 14 cm thick in the southwestern and
northwestern Roberts Mountains, northern Shoshone Range, northern Adobe
Range, Tuscarora Mountains, Cortez Range, and Taylor Canyon in Nevada.
Named for exposures in Slaven Canyon in the Shoshone Range.
