Schmitt Chert is associated with the Mission Canyon Limestone Formation and Lodgepole Limestone Formation, Madison Group of Montana.  Primary outcroppings occur at Schmitt Quarry, Gallatin Valley, Montana.  Reported into Alberta.  This is considered an exotic material.
