Color:  Saugus Jasper ranges from a dark red to pink with thick veins of cream or pale yellow commonly occuring.

Texture:
Fine grain

Luster: Glossy on the outside and dull in the inside.

Translucency:  Opaque

Silica Fabrics / Fossils: 

Patina:  Weathers Pink

Heat Treatment:  Heat treatment deepens color and increases the luster to a waxy or glossy.
