Riepe Spring Chert is associated with the Riepe Spring Limestone Formation of Nevada named for Riepe Spring in the central Egan Range.  Primarily occurs as lenses and nodules in the central Pancake Range east of Duckwater, central Egan Range, eastern Grant Range, Cherry Creek Range, central and northern Butte Mountains, southern Schell Creek Range, abundant brown, pink, and gray nodules in the northern Pahroc Range, Golden Gate Range, and Grassy Mountain, Nevada.
