Railroad Point occurs as float obsidian from the Dufurrena
Grande /Thousand Springs / Virgin Valley sources washed into Thousand
Springs Valley. Tertiary volcanism also produced nodular
vitrophyre. As many as four different geochemical groups have been
identified in this area in Humboldt County, Nevada.
