Pogonip Chert is associated with the Pogonip Limestone Formation of eastern to southern Nevada and southeastern California.  Primarily occurs as large seams between Prospect Quartzite and Eureka Quartzite.  Primary outcroppings occur along Pogonip Ridge near White Pine Nevada.
