Kaumajet Chert is associated with the lower volcanic formation of the Mugford Group of Labrador.  Primary outcroppings is at Anchorstock Harbour in Northern Labrador, Canada

Formations of the Mugsford Group, in ascending order, are; Sunday Run Formation, Cod Island Formation, Calm Grove Formation, Shark Gut Formation, and Finger Hill Formation.
