Hindsville Chert is associated with the Hindsville Limestone Member of the Batesville Formation of Northern Arkansas, northeastern Oklahoma, southeastern Kansas, and southwestern Missouri.   Primary outcroppings occur along Horse Creek, Neosho Creek, and the mouth of Tar Creek.
